Getting started

How long does setup take?

Most teams get their first check-in out within an hour. The minimum is faster: name your church, pick a slug, import a CSV or connect Planning Center, and you're live.

Do I have to use Planning Center?

No. Planning Center is the fastest path if you already use it — Pulsily syncs people, teams, and memberships. But you can also import a CSV or add leaders by hand. The tree, the audiences, and the check-ins all work either way.

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card. You can run a full check-in cycle inside the trial and decide from real data.

What do leaders see when I invite them?

A short email under your domain with a one-click link to answer the month's check-in. No login, no app to install. There's an iOS app if you want one, but it's optional.

Using Pulsily

What's a 'walk'?

A walk is a small batch of people you've committed to reaching out to this week — usually three or four names. Pulsily generates the list from the care wall (who needs a touch most), surfaces what you should remember about each person, and lets you log the touch inline as you go.

Does Pulsily send the messages for me?

Only the check-in itself — a gentle monthly prompt. The actual touches (the coffee, the call, the prayer text) are still yours. Pulsily just makes sure they happen.

Can multiple staff members use it?

Yes. Every Pulsily plan supports unlimited staff users. Roles include Owner, Admin, and Staff, with downline scoping so each person sees only the teams they actually shepherd.

Can I customize the questions?

Every question. Pulsily ships with a starter set of gentle prompts you can adopt or ignore. Most teams write their own within the first month.

Privacy & security

Who can see leader responses?

By default, only the staff users with access to that team. Pulsily isn't a public bulletin board — responses live behind admin login and respect your team's hierarchy.

Where is the data stored?

On managed Postgres in the United States. Backups daily, point-in-time recovery enabled. We don't share your roster, your responses, or your touch logs with anyone — full stop.

What happens if I cancel?

You can export your data first (people, touches, notes, responses, audit log) via CSV. After cancellation, your church is soft-deleted; we hold the data for 30 days in case you change your mind, then it's purged.

Are you HIPAA / SOC 2 / [insert acronym]?

Not yet. We're a small team and we're honest about it. If your church requires specific compliance frameworks, write us via the contact form and we'll tell you the truth about where we are.

Pricing & billing

Why per-person and not per-seat?

Because the work scales with the people you're caring for, not the people doing the caring. Staff users are free and unlimited. The number that grows is your roster.

What if my roster fluctuates?

Pulsily measures roster size monthly. Small fluctuations don't matter; if you cross a tier boundary for two consecutive months, we'll nudge you to upgrade.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes — Stripe handles billing and you get a real invoice with line items and your church's name on it. Pay by card; ACH and wire are available on the Large plan.
